  • Alloch Dam

Lovely open space. Good walk around the dam.. nice place to go and appreciate the beautiful views."I am 70 years young, and I have known this area all my life, and as children we spent many hours among the woods and also catching baggie minnows in the burn at the north of the loch. The walk up to the Wells is also very inspirational, although now overgrown. The view from the southern water shed to the Campsie Fells is exceptional and very atmospheric. It should be invested in and promoted to younger generations."

  • Auld Wife's Lift

Local history - lovely walk. Amazing to hear the story of these stones which range from tales of terror to tales of romance! One legend states that the stones originate from three witches from Strathblane who challenged each other to see who was the strongest and they all ended up carrying the rocks to the same spot.

  • Balgrochan Marsh

Marsh land that has been regenerated. It provides local residents with paths and open spaces to enjoy and meet others. I find it inspiring to see the large viariet of plants as well as Roe Deer grazing in the morning sun. It helps me escape from the stress of life and appreciate Lennoxtown's amazing views.

  • Barhill Roman Fort

Bar Hill Roman Fort lies in a brilliant location looking north over the Kelvin Valley to the Campsie Fells. It gives one of the best impressions of what the wall was like. It has brilliant views and is a good place to go and 'clear your head' or have some time to yourself.
